CD Baby Music Player

The CD Baby Audio player/store is a great way to showcase your music. This article will cover the setup of the player, as well as adding it to your HostBaby website.

First, you will need to login to your CD Baby members page at If you need help logging in, please see CD Baby's instructions.

Once logged in, click on "Tools and Promotions", as shown below.

Once you're in the Tools & Promotion section, click on "Get a Free Music Player".

Next, click "Create a player" to get started. If you've made a player before then it will be shown at the bottom and you can edit it or get the code snippet again.

Now select the albums you want to have your player showcase. This is done by checking the box in the top-right of the album cover for each album you want the player to include.

Following that, set the order for the tracks, and change any preferences you would like before continuing to the next step.

Then give your player a name. This is only for your reference, and is so you can refer back to it in the future.

Finally, pick the style and visual preferences for the player, and copy the player code as indicated below.

NOTE: The retail store player is sometimes too large to fit in all themes. Some themes will display it just fine, while others have a content region that is too small to fit the player it without modifying the provided code snippet. Try a few different layouts and see which one you like best.

From here, it is time to place that code into your HostBaby website. To do this, you will need to login to your dashboard. Refer to your welcome email for login instructions. Once logged in, go to "Manage Pages" and click "Edit" on the page you want to place it on. In our example we will place the player on the home page.

Next, move your cursor over the button on the editor toolbar that says "HTML", and click it.

After that, you will have a new window appear over the top of your existing one that says "HTML Source Editor". This is where you are going to place you code. Go ahead and paste it here. When you are done, click "Update".

NOTE: If you are adding a player to a page that already has content in it, you will need to figure out where in that content you want it to display, and paste the code accordingly.

Second to last, click "Update" at the bottom of the page to publish the changes to the page.

The final step is just to go to your site and make sure the player is there, and looking the way you want it. Depending on your chosen options for style, and format, as well as player type, it will look something like this:

That's it! All done! You have successfully added your audio player to your site!
