HOSTBABY HELP CENTER

Site Builder Settings

The Settings page contains a great many things. We'll break it down into bite-sized chunks for you. This tutorial will give you a general overview of the features available on the Settings page. To get to the Settings page, click the Settings option on the Site Builder's left navigation menu.

On the Settings page you will see the following sections:

Email Settings

Clicking here will take you to the place where you can add/edit email accounts at your domain.

Time Zone

This section allows you to set the time zone where you are. The Site Builder naturally defaults to the time zones our servers are in, which may not be yours!

CD Baby Member Account

Here you can connect your CD Baby Members account to your HostBaby account for easy importing of your tracks on your Audio Page.

Social Media Integration

Use this section to hook up your social media account with your posts from your Blog Page.

Then click on the Sign in with Twitter button.

Finally, sign into your Twitter account to complete the authorization.

Facebook Open Graph Settings

Linking to your site on Facebook will bring up an image, a title, and a description of your site. Facebook will automatically find this information on your site, but if you want to control what Facebook uses, you'll need to put that information into this section.

First, click on turn it on.

Then, fill in the information you'd like and add an image.

Facebook will update with this information within a couple of days usually, but you can force an update by putting your site's URL into the Facebook Debugger.

Google Analytics Account Code

If you choose to use Google Analytics, we have provided a space for you to enter your unique code for tracking.

NOTES:

  • It will take at least 24 hours for Google to start compiling the data.
  • Google instructs you to embed code on every page of your site to make it work. You don't have to do that with HostBaby. Just enter the code as directed above and we'll take care of the rest.

Enable ShareThis Buttons

Enabling this option will result in a button on the bottom of each page that says "Share This!" Clicking on this button will allow visitors to send a link to your page to their friends through their social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and more).

Meta Tags

Although Meta Tags are used less and less by major search engines, it's still a good idea to add your keywords and description here.

HTML <head> Code: Advanced Users Only

For our advanced users, we've provided a space for code to be inserted into the head section of each HTML page. Don't worry If you don't know what that means, this section is completely optional and not required for setting up a great webiste.

Show "Unpublished" Pages

If you want to have pages on your site that are not linked in the navigation, but that you can still share with your visitors, you'll want to enable the Show "Unpublished" Pages option.

Hide "Powered by HostBaby"

This hides the "Powered by HostBaby" message and link in the footer of your site. Don't want to link to us on your site? No problem, you don't have to! Just check the box, click update, and it's gone.
